HISTORYtalk builds bridges, enriches lives and strengthens communities.

HISTORYtalk has over 15 years experience of working with people, communities and organisations to bring their history to life. People of all ages, backgrounds and abilities have benefited from the specialist skills and knowledge that HISTORYtalk staff, tutors and volunteers can provide. Whether it is advice and information, training courses, an opportunity for learning, voluntary work or specialist services HISTORYtalk offers a range of opportunities tailored to meet your particular needs.

HISTORYtalk is a registered charity based in Notting Hill in West London. We offer specialist services and opportunities to individuals, community groups, schools, public sector organisations and private companies.

Our Services

• Inter-generational activities – We offer a range of inter-generational activities for schools, in particular key stage 2 and 3. We believe that bringing together older and younger people can help to break down barriers between the generations and provide an ideal opportunity for younger people to learn from, and share the knowledge, of older people.

• Reminiscence – Housebound individuals, residential care units, housing associations, people with Dementia, community groups and many others have all benefited from our skills and expertise in setting-up or facilitating reminiscence sessions for people from all walks of life. 

• Community History - We have a specialist knowledge of the history of the Kensington and Chelsea area and can also provide information, advice and services about how to set-up and conduct community history research, publications and exhibitions to other organisations and individuals.

• Learning and Training – Our Tutors and Staff offer a growing variety of accredited and non-accredited learning and training opportunities for individuals and organisations. The majority of our courses require no previous experience. 

• Exhibitions, walks and talks – Whether off the peg or purpose designed we offer a range of community history exhibitions, walks and talks for groups, schools and organisations.
